CEP 820 Teaching Students Online: I created a demo website that would be useful when trying to create a hybrid course for English 9. For the platform I used Weebly as it was free and still offered many display options. I focused on the features of the website, trying to create an interactive, creative, organized, attractive learning environment for my students. Putting together this website opened my eyes to how much time and effort is put into making a successful online course. It also increased my awareness of the importance of language when creating an online class. Overall this artifact shows my talent in creating an online class with lessons, assignments, and communication options.

CEP 813 Electronic Assessment: I constructed a project that contained a new form of technology to me, an infographic. I was able to use the program piktochart to create an assessment of learning. Developing this visually appealing project allowed me to focus on content, audience, organization, structure, and design aesthetic. What I liked about this project is that it could be a useful tool for the classroom as reinforcement to lessons or even to help struggling students as it provides many clickable resources on one particular topic.

TE 831 Teaching School Subject Matter with Technology: I created an English lesson about plot structure, summary, dialect/dialogue, and characterization. This took students' previous knowledge of the listed items and asked them to create a comic about "Oedipus the King" using an online program called Pixton. My students loved using the technology to express their knowledge. When creating this lesson I focused on Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) to help shape, create, and implement technology and student actions.

CEP 815: Technology and Leadership: I really enjoyed being able to create projects to display my knowledge using technology. I have found that I love making videos, even though it is very time consuming. My screencast conveys my understanding of Hattie's factors of educational success and that I successfully synthesize the complex descriptions of the main factors into comprehensive and concise explantations. My video creations have shown growth and depth developing an increase in learning for the viewer. (Click here to see one of my first video creations.)

CEP 817 Learning Technology through Design: As an English teacher I find value in developing written reports. This is an example of my blog page including my final report on a project. This report explains what I designed, it's features, and a rational for my choices in design. As I experimented with the stages of design I learned about myself as a designer. This post shows my knowledge of the different design stages and also allows me to provide examples/images of how I apply these stages to learning and the classroom.

TE 843: Secondary Reading Assessment and Instruction: As an English teacher I loved the opportunity to gain more strategies to include in my classroom when dealing with reading instruction and assessment. It's imperative to help students develop reading skills; it's real life. This particular report shows my strength in tracking individual students with hopes of increasing motivation in the classroom while changing student reading identities. By investigating students and their lives I was able to make future goals for my classroom, impacting each student.

TE 848 Writing Assessment and Instruction: Words leave impacts. I love being able to freely write and play with language. By creating this piece I was able to use my dog, and a television show called "Downward Dog" for inspiration to craft a poem expressing my feeling about dogs being more than just a pet, being a member of the family. This is a very strong belief of mine and I feel that this piece opened my eyes to allowing students to have the opportunity to develop pieces before they are criticized using rubrics and point values. In order for students to gain confidence in their writing skills they need to feel comfortable and safe.

ED 800 Concepts of Educational Inquiry: I really appreciate the opportunity to reflect on personal experiences with technology growing up. Writing this reflection allowed me to gather my thoughts and think about how far technology has come and how much I gave grown. I was also able to reflect on how implementing technology in the classroom is impacting my students and helping them prepare for the real world. They are developing many useful skills by experiencing what the internet and devices have to offer them. I believe personal reflection is important in all aspects in life, it promotes growth.

TE 846 Accommodating Differences Literacy Learner: My favorite part of this project was that I was able to track a student learning about his reading strengths and weaknesses while developing lessons and plans to increase his ability. While it seems completely overwhelming to track each individual student at the high school level (130 students in one semester) it is extremely beneficial and promotes successful learning. This is my final document displaying all of the techniques I administered as well as my thoughts and feedback. This project allowed me to work with a particular student, process through his results, and develop an organized report. In the end I believe this document shows my dedication to literacy education for all students.
